Sept 13 – General Meeting

Sunshine Coast Bear Alliance Speaks

When: Tuesday, September 13th, 2022 from 7:00–8:00 PM

Where: Eric Cardinal Hall, 930 Chamberlin Road, Shirley Macey Park

The Sunshine Coast Bear Alliance Society was established in 2019 with the aim to promote a safe and respectful coexistence between our residents and our resident bears. They will have a representative come to our meeting to give a presentation about the myths and misconceptions associated with our bears, bear behaviours and how to be ‘bear aware’ around your home.

The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.

June 14 – General Meeting

Two Guest Presenters!

When: Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 from 7:00–8:30 PM

Where: Eric Cardinal Hall, 930 Chamberlin Road, Shirley Macey Park

Aidan Buckley – SCRD Manager, Communications and Engagement
Aidan will be giving us a short talk about how the SCRD is sharing information with the community and the upcoming initiatives the SCRD wants feedback on. He’s also interested to hear suggestions about how the SCRD can improve their outreach to the community.
 
Kylie Hutchinson – Board member, Transportation Choices Sunshine Coast
Kylie will be talking about the economic benefits of cycle tourism to the Sunshine Coast. (TRAC is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting healthy communities and reducing the Sunshine Coast’s carbon footprint by promoting more active and sustainable transportation alternatives to private vehicles, including cycling, walking, and transit.)
